We have two types of rocky or graveled areas in our wetlands. One type is for the walking path. These are for our use and enjoyment. The other type is not for our use. They are access and maintenance easements for the OFFICIAL USE ONLY of maintenance crews and other officials who may need access — such as first responders for emergency response should there be a fire or health emergency in the wetlands. Our use of these access and maintenance easements is forbidden by the US Army Corps of Engineers and the Washington State Department of Ecology who jointly set the rules for our stewardship of the wetlands. For us to go on those trails is essentially TRESPASSING.
